While the crossover between reel and real aren't very frequent, for actor Shekhar Suman, who stars in The Pyramid Scheme, a moment in his life encountering the titular scam, resulted in him relating to the story of the series. In The Pyramid Scheme, Shekhar Suman stars as Tarun Bajaj, a man who runs a Multi-Level Marketing scheme.
"I will tell you why, because I nearly became a part of this scam. Someone approached me about an MLM, and I had no idea what this whole thing was about. They came with all the big promises, how there's money involved, how's good for society, and I nearly got convinced. But I stopped myself just in the nick of time," said the actor in a press release.
He added, "I have met those people, and I saw how good they were at talking, how they sway your opinions and take you for a nice garden walk. Experiencing all of that up close and personal, I could instantly relate to the story. I understood how these people operate and how easily others can get pulled in. That’s why I feel it's also a part of our social responsibility to tell people to be careful and stay away from such things.”
The Pyramid Scheme premiered on June 5, and stars aramvir Singh Cheema, Ranvir Shorey, Aanjjan Srivastav, Alfia Jafry, and Ashish Raghava, among others. Shreyansh Pandey has created the series. He has also served as a director along with Ashish R Shukla. Akshendra Mishra has served as a writer on the series, which is backed by The Viral Fever.
