Madhuri Dixit has acted with Anil Kapoor in more than 15 films, including titles such as Parinda, Tezaab, Beta, Lajja, and Pukar. In old interviews, Madhuri described Anil as her favourite co-star. It has been more than seven years since the two last acted together, in Total Dhamaal.
In a recent interview, Madhuri Dixit said that she would like to reunite with Anil again in a project. Speaking to Filmfare, she said, "I would like to star with him again, but there should be a great screenplay for it." Madhuri also said that the project that would bring her back together with her co-star of multiple films must measure up to the legacy that they have built over the years through film collaborations. "So, the subject has to be good and everything has to fall into place," Madhuri added.
Madhuri's latest comments come shortly after she met Anil at a recent screening of her film Maa Behen, which caused much excitement among fans for a reunion of the stars.
Anil Kapoor, too, has expressed her admiration for Madhuri multiple times. For example, while wishing the actor on her 57th birthday recently, Anil shared, "To say that you are one of my favourite co-stars would be accurate but not nearly enough. You are most importantly, one of my favourite buddies. Ours is a friendship that transcends all screens and I'm lucky to have your radiant presence in my life."
