The official trailer of Ramayana was earlier slated to be released online on July 24, because it was postponed at the last minute. However, on Tuesday evening, producer Namit Malhotra announced a new date for the trailer release.
Taking to Instagram, Namit shared that the Ramayana trailer will be unveiled on Thursday, July 30, early morning at 4.15 am IST, at the auspicious Brahma Muhurat. This is a very unique strategy by the makers, a move that will compel all the movie-goers to wake up at an odd hour just to watch the trailer.
A few days ago, Namit Malhotra had also announced that the Ramayana team is now tying up with Sony Pictures for the international distribution plan of their film. "This is special as it opens the door for people across the world to discover the richness of our culture and our stories with renewed pride and enthusiasm," Namit Malhotra had said on the occasion.
The first glimpse of the film, centred around reveal of Lord Ram’s character, was unveiled in April. While Ranbir Kapoor will play Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi will be seen as Sita in the film and KGF star Yash will be seen as Ravana.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film boasts a massive ensemble cast with actors like Ravie Dubey, Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh, Vivek Oberoi, Arun Govil, and Sheeba Chaddha on board. Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman are composing for the film.
The first part of the epic is set for theatrical release in November this year. According to some reports, Sunny Deol, who plays Hanuman, will make an appearance only in 2nd part.
