Director Atlee has joined the growing list of filmmakers praising the trailer of Nitesh Tiwari's much-anticipated mythological epic Ramayana: Part 1, calling it a visually spectacular experience and wishing the team success ahead of its release.
Sharing his reaction on social media after watching the recently unveiled trailer, Atlee applauded producer Namit Malhotra and director Nitesh Tiwari for bringing an ambitious vision to life. "Absolutely blown away by the Ramayana trailer!" he wrote, adding that Tiwari's craft and Malhotra's vision had left a strong impression on him.
The filmmaker also singled out the lead cast for praise, describing Yash as "unbelievably lethal" in the role of Ravana, while calling Ranbir Kapoor "stunning" and Sai Pallavi "ethereal." Summing up his thoughts on the trailer, Atlee wrote, "Every frame feels grand, fresh, and magical," before adding, "This looks truly epic!"
Mounted as a two-part retelling of the Indian epic, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana. The ensemble cast also includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film is produced by Namit Malhotra under Prime Focus Studios in association with DNEG and Yash's Monster Mind Creations. The first instalment is slated for a worldwide IMAX release during Diwali 2026, while the concluding chapter is scheduled to arrive in Diwali 2027.
Up next, Atlee is working on his much-anticipated film with Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone, which was recently titled Raaka. The makers also shared an intense first-look poster of the actor with kohl-rimmed eyes and a clawed, almost beast-like hand, suggesting that he could have a half-human, half-animal look in the film. The film also stars Femina George in a prominent role.
