The official trailer of the upcoming Kajal Aggarwal-Shreyas Talpade-starrer The India Story was unveiled on Saturday. The social drama is set to arrive in theatres on July 24.
Shreyas Talpade plays Yogesh Patil, an army man who has a loving relationship with his 7-year-old daughter. However, after she dies under mysterious circumstances, Yogesh attempts to file an FIR against food corporations for selling adulterated food, only to be thrown out by the very system he once protected. Here steps in advocate Archana (Kajal Aggarwal) who decides to take up Yogesh’s case and fight for justice against all barriers.
As Archana continues her investigation, she learns about the deeply corrupted system that is behind the adulterated food which is being sold to the common populace of the nation. Strangely, Archana and Yogesh end up antagonising the farmers’ community, the very people they are fighting for. And yet, the two continue in their journey, undeterred, to fight a case that could potentially change the landscape of a nation. The oppressive system is represented by a police officer (played by Murali Sharma).
The ensemble cast includes Manish Wadhwa, Atul Tiwari, Kamlesh Sawant, and Sham Mashilkar among others. The technical team includes cinematographer Nishant Bhagwat, music composer Mangesh Dhakde, editor Ashish Mhatre, lyricist Shakeel Azami, and sound designer Anmol Bhave.
Chettan DK helms direction for the film. Written and produced by Sagar B Shinde, The India Story is presented by Zee Studios in association with MIG Production & Studios. Besides Hindi, the film will also be released in Telugu and Tamil.
Shreyas was recently seen in a key role in Akshay Kumar led Welcome to The Jungle, while Kajal’s last major Hindi release was Salman Khan starrer Sikandar (2025).
