Welcome To The Jungle, the latest multi-starrer comedy entertainer that released a few days ago, has been performing very well at the box office. The film marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Suneil Shetty after a long time. Akshay and Suniel did many successful two-hero films in the 90s and 2000s. In a recent interview, the film’s director Ahmed Khan revealed how Sanjay Dutt was earlier signed for Suniel’s role, and the reasons why he backed out.

In an interview with News18, Ahmed said, “Sanju baba loved the script, and he really wanted to be a part of the film. There were so many of his friends in the film; he was thrilled.” However, Sanjay had to go to US for a medical treatment and had to back out since Ahmed couldn’t shift the dates of other actors.

At the same time, Ahmed revealed that Sanjay Dutt himself convinced Suniel Shetty, who was initially signed to do a different role, step up in his place. The Dhurandhar actor also then talked to Jackie Shroff, asking him to do the role earlier meant for Suniel. “He set up a solution for his unavailability. We'll always remain grateful to Baba for that,” Ahmed added.
