

Director Imtiaz Ali’s Partition-era drama, Main Vaapas Aaunga, has struck a chord with audiences and film fraternity members alike, drawing praise for its core message about empathy and humanity. The latest to appreciate it is actor Prakash Raj, who took to social media to share a glowing review of Imtiaz, his cast and crew and their film.
Prakash Raj wrote on Instagram, "Thank you Intias Ali for the most relevant film of our times ..and to you an extordinary team of actors and technicians for using your craft in weaving a great film." He added, "Please watch this gem which I promise is beyond just a film but will linger in your conscience for a very very long time."
Prakash Raj's praise for Naseeruddin Shah adds to the growing voice of appreciation around the actor's performance in the film, which many regard as an all-time great performance. "Special love to you Naseeruddin Shah sab for inspiring portrayal," he wrote in his brief Main Vaapas Aaunga review.
In the film, Naseeruddin Shah plays an elderly man holding onto life to see his ancestral home one last time. Alongside his work as JRD Tata in the Amazon MX Player series, Made In India: A Titan Story, the actor has been enjoying much appreciation lately for his performance in the drama. The Imtiaz Ali film also stars Diljit Dosanjh, Sharvari, and Vedang Raina, who have collectively earned much appreciation for bringing this tale of memory and longing to life.
What is also notable in Prakash Raj's latest post about Main Vaapas Aaunga is his appreciation of Rahman's work in the film. There have been some criticism for the legendary composer's music in the drama. However, Prakash wrote that "dear AR Rahman" is "the soul of the film."
The film got off to a slow start at the box office in the first but has since picked up momentum. According to Sacnilk, it has earned more than 77 crore from theatres worldwide.
