January 26 marks the completion of 2 years of Fighter, the aerial action drama starring Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan that released in January 2024. Produced by Marflix Pictures, Viacom18 Studios, and Betterfly Films, Fighter was directed by Siddharth Anand. On Monday, Siddharth penned a brief but sentimental note about his film marking the occasion, calling it his ‘best work.’
Taking to his X page, the Fighter filmmaker wrote, “2 years of my best work. Fighter. The film I’m so proud of. Seeing so many scenes on my timeline reminded how beautiful those 2 scenes were.” Siddharth went on to mention two particular scenes — a scene between Patty and Saachi and another with Minni and her father — as his favourites. “Both the most emotional scenes I’ve ever shot. Will remain the most timeless. For me. Thank you for the love,” he concluded.
Actors like Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Ashutosh Rana among others comprise the ensemble cast.
Anil Kapoor too penned a note about the film, stating, "Two years later, Fighter still soars high. Looking back with so much gratitude for the memories that stay long after the screens fade. Some journeys don’t end with the release. Here’s to the spirit, the people, and the love that keeps it alive."
Fighter marked Sidharth’s third collaboration with Hrithik — they had previously worked together in Bang Bang and War. This was also the third time he was working with Deepika, after Bachna Ae Haseeno and Pathaan.
Siddharth is currently busy shooting with Shah Rukh Khan for another big-scale actioner King. The makers recently announced December 24 as the release date for their film.
