After taking a staggering opening of Rs 30 crore nett on its opening day, Border 2 continued to perform well on Saturday as well. Starring Sunny Deol in the lead, the war-drama is a spiritual sequel to the 1997 blockbuster Border.

According to a report by Sacnilk.com, the film garnered Rs 36.5 crore nett on Saturday, registing nearly 22% jump from its Friday collections.   However, it must be noted that the film’s day 1 collections were severely impacted because of the morning show cancellations at most of the centres due to technical issues. So it remains to be seen whether the war-drama will again manage to show huge jump on Sunday.

Border 2 is directed by Anurag Singh who has previously made Punjab 84 and Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari (2019) among many other Punjab films.  The film is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 275 crores. Besides Sunny Deol, Border 2 stars actors like Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty in the lead cast. Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, and Medha Rana are part of the cast as well.

In our review for the film, we noted, “Border 2 might be simping for the defense forces and the country but it doesn’t house blind-hatred. It belongs to the ethos of old school Bollywood where Pakistan is the enemy and not Pakistanis.”
