Even as Border 2 makers were looking forward to a massive opening figure on Friday, they were met with an unexpected trouble as the early morning shows of Border 2 on Friday were cancelled at many locations.

Keeping in considering the massive hype, the team had planned 7.30am and 8am shows for Border 2. However, due to technical issues, the final print could not be delivered to some of these theatres on time. According to reports, the content download began around 6-6.30am at many theatres.  Considering Border 2 has a duration of 192 minutes, it would take around 3-4 hours for the exhibitors to have the film ready for screening. Resultantly, all the morning shows up till 11am have been severely impacted across the centres.

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen whether this development would have any impact on Border 2’s theatrical run in the long haul. The opening day figures are sure to be affected. Directed by Anurag Singh, the war-drama garnered enough hype to garner considerable figures in advance bookings. According to a report from Sacnilk.com, the film collected Rs 12.5 crore, outperforming Dhurandhar in terms of advance figures.

A spiritual sequel to 1997 film Border, Border 2 will see Sunny Deol in the lead role again, while adding Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty to the cast.
