The trailer of Emraan Hashmi headliner series Taskaree: The Smuggler's Web was unveiled by the makers on Wednesday. Written and produced by Special OPS (2020) and A Wednesday (2008) director Neeraj Pandey, the show has been directed by Raghav Jairath. It also features Sharad Kelkar, Amruta Khanvilkar, Nandish Singh Sandhu and Anurag Sinha.
The series revolves around a group of Customs officers commanded by Arjun Meena (Emraan) as they try to dismantle a smuggling racket bossed by Bada Chaudhary (Sharad). The trailer shows a minister asking a Customs head to gather a team of honest officers who can control the rampant smuggling of gold happening at Mumbai airport. Soon, a team is assembled and the rest of the trailer showcases the twists and turns and the cat and mouse chase that ensures between team Arjun and team Bada Chaudhary.
Taskaree marks Neeraj Pandey’s fourth collaboration with Netflix after 2024's film Sikandar Ka Muqaddar, 2022’s Khakee: The Bihar Chapter and last year’s Khakee: The Bengal Chapter. Emraan also returns to the platform after his much-lauded cameo in The Ba***ds of Bollywood.
Taskaree will start streaming on Netflix from January 14.
