Earlier, we reported about the speculation over Anurag Basu directing a romantic drama, starring Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela in the lead roles. According to reports, the film has been titled Tu Meri Zindagi Hai. At an event in December, the actor played down the speculation and said that production houses would give an update about her Bollywood debut at the appropriate time. In a more recent interview with Galatta Plus, the actor has all but confirmed the Anurag Basu directorial as the film marking her debut in Hindi cinema. When asked about her experience working on a Hindi film with Anurag, the actor expressed her gratitude for being able to collaborate with "such great filmmakers" and said that "it was unreal," referring to the aforementioned project.
The Guntur Kaaram star expressed her reluctance to share further details about the film, partly because the makers are yet to announce officially. However, the actor eventually called it a project "close to" her heart and expressed eagerness to see its release. "I am really really looking forward to seeing that film coming out," Sreeleela said before adding, "That is going to be a milestone."
The actor also called it a film so unlike her previous projects before praising Anurag's ability to get actors into the shoes of the characters in his films and get the best out of them. "Basu sir is intense, and he does not come across like that," the actor said. She also added that Anurag, whom she calls 'Dada', does not know how big of a director he is.
Coming back to Sreeleela, the actor is set to storm to the screens this Saturday with a role opposite Sivakarthikeyan in Parasakthi. The film, directed by Sudha Kongara, marks her debut in Tamil cinema.
