After taking a lukewarm start at the box office, O’ Romeo is taking slow but steady steps towards a decent recovery at the box office. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, O’ Romeo is an intense romance-actioner with obsessive love and revenge at its core, starring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri in the lead.
According to a report by Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 4.75 crore (nett) on its first Monday, which is only 47 percent below its Sunday collections, as compared to the stand 55-60% range drop for any film. These figures indicate a decent word-of-mouth buzz going on for the film, despite receiving largely lukewarm response from the critics.
The film had also performed very well on day 2, collecting nearly 12.65 crore (nett), with most of the spike coming from the urban centres and young audience on the occasion of Valentine's Day.
At the end of day 4, the film’s domestic collections stand roughly around Rs 35 crore. However, considering its humungous budget of Rs 130 crore, O’ Romeo must keep up the momentum throughout the weekdays, and well into the next week at the box office, where it will have competition with two mid-range films like Assi and Do Deewane Seher Mein.
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, O’ Romeo boasts a massive ensemble cast, with actors like Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Tamannaah Bhatia, Disha Patani, Vikrant Massey, Rahul Deshpande, and Farida Jalal on board.
