Earlier, we had reported about Anshuman Jha’s next project Om Ka Hari. On Monday, the makers confirmed the release date for their film. Directed by Harish Vyas, Om Ka Hari is set for theatrical release on September 18.
Billed as an emotional father-son drama, the film tells the story of a stubborn father Hari Prasad Sharma (Raghbir Yadav) in Bhopal and his independent minded son (Anshuman), and their conflicts which begin in Bhopal and culminate in Varanasi. It also features stellar actors like Soni Razdan, Samta Sudiksha and Ayesha Kapur in the ensemble cast.
This is the fifth production under First Ray Film banner, and marks the third collaboration between Harish Vyas and Anshuman Jha, following their previous films, Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain and Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele.
For Harish, the film also brings a larger cinematic journey to its emotional conclusion, completing his trilogy of films exploring love. Speaking about the film and completing this trilogy, Harish stated, “Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain was about reminding a husband and wife that after 30 years of marriage, you still need to say ‘I love you’. Hum Bhi Akele was about discovering love in friendship. And Om Ka Hari is perhaps the most personal and universal of the three — about a father and son who love each other deeply but have forgotten how to say it.”
The music too plays an integral part of the film’s world, also featuring a song by the late legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle among others.
In the past 2 years, the film has been screenings at eminent film festivals. Starting its journey with world premiere at Stuttgart in 2025, Om ka Hari has since had screenings at IFFM Melbourne, CSAFF, and Red Lorry Film Festival.
