Salman Khan took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a behind-the-scenes photo from the shooting of his upcoming film, Battle of Galwan. The film, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, also stars Chitrangada Singh in a pivotal role.
Salman shared the photo where he is seen wearing an army uniform as part of his face is covered in blood. A clapperboard covers the frame and the photo seems to have been taken just before a shot.
As per reports, Salman is set to shoot the climax of the film in Leh and Ladakh over the next 2-3 weeks. It is expected to have high-octane action set pieces.
The film is based on the Galwan Valley clash of 2020, where Indian and Chinese troops fought each other, resulting in casualties on both sides. The fighting majorly involved hand-to-hand combat using sticks and stones as weapons were banned in the area.
The film features music by Himesh Reshammiya. More details from the project about other cast members and the release date are awaited.
Speaking about working on the film earlier in an interview with PTI, Salman said, “It is physically demanding. Every year, every month, every day it gets more and more difficult. I've to give more time now (for training). Earlier, I would do it (train) in one or two weeks, now I'm running, kicking, punching, and all that stuff. This film demands that.”
He added, “For instance, in Sikandar the action was different, the character was different. But this is physically difficult. Besides, shooting in Ladakh, in high altitude and in cold water (is another challenge). When I was signing the film, I thought it's amazing but it's a very difficult film to do. I've 20 days (of work) in Ladakh and then seven to eight days (of shoot) in cold water. We will be shooting this month.”
Salman’s last film, Sikandar, turned out to be a major failure at the box office when it was released earlier this year on Eid.
