Thamma box office collection Day 6: Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s horror-comedy, Thamma is inching towards Rs 100 crore at the box office. The film did a steady business over the weekend.

As per Sacnilk, Thamma earned Rs 13.1 crore on Saturday and Rs 13 crore on Sunday, seeing a spike of over 31% from its collection on Friday, which was Rs 10 crore. The film’s total collection now stands at Rs 91.79 crore (India Nett).

The film saw a Hindi occupancy of 22.85% on Sunday with the evening shows amounting to the maximum of 33.59%.

Thamma has performed better than some of previous films in Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, including, Stree (2018), Bhediya (2022) and Munjya (2024). However, it is still miles behind Stree 2, which had entered the Rs 100 crore in just four days after opening at Rs 51.80 crore.

Thamma released alongside Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s romantic-drama, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, which has minted Rs 41.25 crore in six days. Although Thamma is way ahead in the collections, it is a significant achievement for Ek Deewane… as well to have done a decent business during the clash with a film of a popular franchise without the same star power, lesser screens and pre-release buzz.

Written by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew and Arun Falara and directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Thamma also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Paresh Rawal and Sathyaraj in pivotal roles. It is produced by Dinesh Vijan.

CE’s review of the film reads, “The real horror in Thamma is realising it’s still not over; the comedy meanwhile, dies long before the vampires do, staying buried under flat gags and dated jokes. To shake the monotony, Varun Dhawan makes a rather laughable entry late into the second half and the memory of the film being part of MHCU sprawls up. It is the weakest entry in the universe; a hollow spectacle that is all talk and no play. In a scene, when Alok gulps down that 3000-year-old blood and passes out, it feels strangely envious. At least he has the privilege of escaping the life-sucking doom that unfolds.”
