Ayushmann Khurrana, who was recently seen in the horror-comedy Thamma, took to social media on Friday to share a video with his family members. He also wrote a heartfelt note in the caption, mentioning his late father.

In the video, Ayushmann is seen seated beside his brother, Aparshakti as they are engaged in a prayer ceremony with other members from the family. He also posted a photo with Paresh Rawal from Thamma and one more from the past with his father. The actor also posted another video from a theatre where he is occupied by people, seemingly after a screening of Thamma.

In the caption, Ayushmann wrote, “This family has seen a lot in the last few years. The success of Thamma is like a beautiful divine light. It is a result of collective prayers of the young and old present here. आयुष्मान भव: that’s what my father used to say whenever I touched his feet. When Paresh ji said आयुष्मान भव: in the film, it felt like my father, my guardian angel had blessed me.”

The actor added, “My family, my late father and the audience has blessed Thamma with love. Don’t be surprised if you come across an overwhelmed me in one of the theatres in the suburbs. I may drop in to say Hi and Thank you!”

The comment section was filled with messages of warmth from others in the industry. Vijay Varma wrote, “Lots of love to you and fam brother.”  Rakul Preet Singh wrote, “may this be just the beginning of so much more .. love to all of you.”

Thamma director Aditya Sarpotdar and actor Abhishek Banerjee shared heart emojis while actor Nakuul Mehta wrote, “This and many more.”

Thamma also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sathyaraj in pivotal roles. It was released in theatres on October 21 on the occasion of Diwali and received mixed reviews from critics. The film has also been seeing a lukewarm response at the box office as it has earned over Rs 55 crore in three days.
