
The first look of Agastya Nanda starrer upcoming war-drama Ikkis, helmed by Sriram Raghavan, was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday.
The film’s production house Maddock Films took to social media on Tuesday to share two posters from the film, both featuring Agastya. In one he can be seen firing from a tanker, while in the other he is standing and looking sideways. “Woh ikkis ka tha, ikkis ka hi rahega (He was 21, he will remain 21),” reads the text on the posters. The first look of the film was unveiled on the birth anniversary of Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, on whom Ikkis is based. Arun achieved martyrdom during the Battle of Basantar in the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war. He was at a young age of 21 when he died.
Although no exact release date of the film has been announced, Ikkis is scheduled to release in December, 2025. “On the birth anniversary of Arun Khetarpal, Ikkis, a story that will forever stay in our hearts, is wrapped. Dinesh Vijan and Maddock Films present #Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan, a true untold story of the youngest officer recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. In cinemas December 2025!” reads the caption on the posts.
The film also stars Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikander Kher, and marks the debut of Akshay Kumar's niece Simar Bhatia.
Ikkis was first announced in 2019 on the 69th birth anniversary of Arun Khetrpal, with Varun Dhawan attached to play the lead role. The film got pushed due to the coronavirus pandemic, leading to Varun’s exit over scheduling conflict.
The film marks the second big project for Agastya, son of Shweta Bachchan Nanda and Nikhil Nanda, after. The young actor made his acting debut with Zoya Akhtar's The Archies in 2023. For Sriram, it is going to be a first shift in genre, from his usual crime-thriller space to a military drama.
