The teaser of Mohit Suri’s romantic-drama Saiyaara, marking the debut of Ananya Panday’s cousin Ahaan Panday, was unveiled by the makers on Friday. It also stars Aneet Padda (Big Girls Don’t Cry, Salaam Venky) in the lead.
The teaser opens with a visual of Aneet and her voiceover playing over. Ahaan is seen riding a cruiser bike and lighting a cigarette. Later, we see him holding a guitar and standing on an empty stage as he is drenched in rain. There are further visuals of the two falling in love with intense rock music playing in the background. “Saiyaara matlab, taaron me ek tanha taara. Khud jalke jo roshan karde jag saara (Saiyaara means that star which is lonely, which gets burnt in order to illuminate the surroundings)”, the voiceover says as there are visuals of Ahaan engaging in fight scenes.
The film is written by Sankalp Sadanah, and Rohan Shankar has penned the dialogues. It features music by Mithoon, Sachet-Parampara, Rishabh Kant, Vishal Mishra, Tanishk Bagchi, Faheem Abdullah and Arslan Nizami.
Saiyaara is the first film being produced by YRF’s CEO, Akshaye Widhani. It is presented by Aditya Chopra.
Ahaan’s debut was announced in February last year. The nephew of actor Chunky Panday, he was signed as a YRF Talent almost about six years back to go through intense training programmes devised personally by Aditya Chopra. A source at that time said, "Ahaan has been shaped by Aditya Chopra personally for years. He has been kept under wraps by YRF so that he can focus on bettering his craft."
