Babil Khan is back on Instagram after he deleted his account on Sunday after posting tearful videos naming Bollywood actors and criticising the industry. He said that his videos were ‘extremely misinterpreted’.
Taking to his stories, Babil re-shared the statement issued by his family and PR team and wrote, “The video was extremely misinterpreted, I was trying to show support to Ananya Panday, Shanaya Kapoor, Adarsh Gourav, Arjun Kapoor, Raghav Juyal and Arijit Singh. I genuinely don’t have the energy to indulge more but I do this as responsibility for my peers that I truly admire.”
Tagging Raghav in another story, Babil wrote, “Bhai you are my icon, my idol and my elder brother that I never had.” He also re-shared Siddhant’s story which featured a video of Babil and wrote, “Siddhant, I love you brother.”
Also resharing Adarsh’s story, Babil wrote, “Aadhi Zindagi misunderstanding me guzar jaati hai, lekin asli doston ka saath dil ko shuddh rakkhe, yeh hi icha hai (Half the life goes by in misunderstandings but I wish that the support of real friends keeps the heart pure)”.
Further, Babil also shared a clip from his father the late Irrfan Khan’s film Madaari (2016), where he breaks down in the hospital and is asked by the doctor not to worry. “You are a man, be courageous,” the lady is heard saying off-screen.
Ananya, Raghav and Siddhant also came out in support of the actor earlier, sharing the statement released by Babil’s team.
In the deleted video, Babil dropped names of several celebrities like Ananya, Arjun Kapoor, Shanaya, Siddhant, Raghav, Adarsh and Arijit in one of the videos and followed it up by saying, “Bollywood is so f******. Bollywood is so screwed,” leading to many on the internet wonder if he is being isolated or bullied by these people in the industry.
Later, his family and team issued a statement stating that the actor had a “difficult day” and that he mentioned the celebrities’ names from a “place of genuine admiration” and for “their authenticity, passion, and efforts to restore credibility and heart in the industry”.
