The teaser of Sarzameen, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan was unveiled by the makers on Monday. Directed by Boman Irani’s son, Kayoze Irani in his directorial debut, the film is written by Soumil Shukla and Arun Singh with dialogues by Kausar Munir and Jehan Handa.
The first look teaser offers a glimpse into the film where Prithviraj plays an army man and Kajol seems to be playing his wife. It opens with visuals of snow-capped mountains and a group of army soldiers venturing into the forest for an operation. There is an explosion and the scene shifts to Kajol’s worried face. Prithviraj’s voice is heard, “Sarzameen ki salamati se badhkar mere liye kuch nahi (Nothing is more important to me than protecting my country)”. He is later seen engaging in some fight sequences: smashing punches, shooting rifles and then firing a rocket launcher. The video ends with Ibrahim, who seems to be playing a militant, shown to be having bruises on his back.
Sarzameen has been produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, and Apoorva Mehta under Dharma Productions along with Star Studios. It marks Ibrahim's second film after Nadaniyaan, which was also backed by Dharma.
The film will be released directly on JioHotstar on July 25.
