Kajol recently faced some online criticism for her remarks about Ramoji Film City where she called it ‘one of the most haunted places in the world’. Now, she has issued a small clarification about the same.
Taking to X, Kajol wrote, “I wish to address my earlier remark about Ramoji Film City in the context of promoting my film Maa. I have filmed multiple projects at Ramoji Film City and stayed there many times over the years. I have always found it to be a very professional environment for filmmaking and I have seen so many tourists enjoying themselves. It’s a great destination and absolutely safe for families and children.”
In an earlier interview clip which went viral, Kajol said, “There are many such places where we have gone for shooting and were unable to sleep at night. Or not feeling like coming back to the place. We have prime examples of such places. Ramoji Rao Studios and in Hyderabad itself, is considered one of the most haunted places in the world. But god has protected me and I haven’t seen anything.”
Her film, Maa, is set in the world of Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan and has been directed by Vishal Furia with a screenplay by Saiwyn Quadras. It also stars Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta and Jitin Gulati in pivotal roles.
Produced by Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Deshpande and co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, it is set to be released in theatres on June 27.
