Jackie Shroff revealed recently at the trailer launch of Anupam Kher’s Tanvi The Great that he was left in tears when Anupam played a song while offering him the film. Jackie also shared his experience of working with Anupam on the film.
Speaking at the trailer launch, Jackie thanked Anupam for casting him in the film. “I was teary-eyed when he first called me and played a song. Usually, I don't cry in front of anyone, but after hearing the song, my eyes were filled with tears. It's an honour to be on this stage with such a fantastic cast," he said.
Jackie added, “Anupam Kher handled everything brilliantly, and I got to learn a lot during the film. He taught me several nuances while filming, so if there's anybody who wishes to learn acting, they can learn from Anupam Kher. He's a beautiful actor and director, and has made an absolutely brilliant film. It's total soul-cleansing."
Jackie plays the role of Brigadier Joshi in the film which also stars Anupam, Boman Irani, Karan Tacker, Iain Glen, Pallavi Joshi, Arvind Swamy, and debutante Shubhangi.
Tanvi The Great marks Anupam’s second directorial venture after Om Jai Jagadish (2002). It was recently screened at the New York Indian Film Festival and will be released in theatres on July 18.
