‘Kali Shakti’, a song from Kajol’s upcoming supernatural horror-film Maa was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday. It is composed by Harsh Asha Upadhyay with lyrics by Pranav Sunita Vatsa.
The music video of the song features Kajol entering a room where everyone is praying to the idol of goddess Kali. In the procession, Kajol dances along the powerful vocals of Usha which elevate the energy of her performance. The song is choreographed by Ranju Ponnamma Varghese. The visuals are full of traditional elements like red drapes, burning flames, and dramatic lighting, creating an atmosphere that is both sacred and haunting, going in line with the film’s tone.
As per the makers, “Maa, is the story of a mother who becomes Kali to end a demonic curse rooted in fear, blood, and betrayal.”
Presented by Jio Studios and Devgn Films, Maa is produced by Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Subbarayan and co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak. It is set to be released in theatres June 27.
