Sunny Deol, who made his first public appearance at the Border 2 teaser launch event, following the demise of his father and veteran actor Dharmendra, shared his thoughts on patriotism and expressed confidence in Gen-Z on protecting the nation.

The Jaat actor praised the young generation, highlighting their potential to uphold the nation’s legacy and protect the country just as previous generations have done. "The country is our mother, and today's youth also considers it their mother. And they will protect it, just like their fathers, great grandfathers did. I think even today's youth will do the same. We call it Gen Z, whatever you call it, but it is still a child," he shared.

During the event, Sunny Deol became teary-eyed while delivering one of his iconic dialogues from the film. While he said, "Awaaz kahan tak jaani chahiye?" the audience responded with, "Lahore tak," completing his memorable line from the original film.

On the occasion of Vijay Diwas, the makers of Border 2 unveiled the highly anticipated teaser at a grand event in Mumbai. The star-studded gathering saw the presence of the film’s lead cast, including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty.

Ahan Shetty wraps Border 2: ‘The film carries weight of real stories’

Border 2, a spiritual sequel of the 1997 JP Dutta directorial of the same name. Directed by Anurag Singh (Kesari, 2019; Punjab 1984, 2014) the patriotic-drama has been produced by T-Series' Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Dutta.

Set during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war, the over two-minute teaser opens with Sunny Deol's voiceover, threatening the Pakistani army, stating that if they try to enter from air, land or water they will find a "hindustani" guarding it. Diljit plays an air force officer, Varun is fighting on the ground while Ahan is commanding the seas. Sunny seems to be playing the commanding officer and the teaser is peppered with his iconic war cries.

The 1997 film Border was based on the Battle of Longewala. Border 2’s teaser states that this is also set during the events of the 1971 war between India and Pakistan. The movie also stars Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa and Medha Rana. Border 2 is slated to release during The Republic Day weekend on January 23.
