The trailer of Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor starrer romantic-comedy Param Sundari was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday. The film, directed by Tushar Jalota, is backed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films.
The trailer introduces us to Punjabi stud Param Sachdev (Sidharth) and Malayali beauty Sundari (Janhvi). It is hinted that Param meets her while on a trip to Kerala. They fall in love but misunderstandings emerge which have Param being chased by an angry public on Kerala’s streets. The film is an old-school love story and can remind viewers of Chennai Express (2013), which starred Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.
Talking about the film, Sidharth said, “With Param Sundari, I feel like I am revisiting the kind of romance I grew up loving, but telling it in a way that feels fresh and relatable. Param has that Delhi boy charm and a love that makes you cross worlds.”
Describing her character Sundari, Janhvi said, “She is deeply personal to me. Her grace, quiet strength, and love for her roots resonate with my own South Indian heritage. Shooting in Kerala, surrounded by such beauty, I felt an emotional connection to her world that I hope the audience will feel too.”
Director Tushar Jalota added, “Param Sundari is a celebration of differences - the way two distinct worlds can collide and yet create something beautiful together.”
The film’s music has been led by Sachin–Jigar with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Param Sundari releases in theatres on August 29.
