‘Bheegi Saree’, a song from Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming romantic-drama Param Sundari was unveiled by the makers on Friday. The song is composed by Sachin-Jigar, sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Adnan Sami and features lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
The music video of the song opens with Sidharth and Janhvi stopping at a street and getting out of their vintage car as it begins to rain. Janhvi is wearing a white saree while Sidharth is seen in a yellow shirt. The vocals by Adnan carry a heartfelt, quirky energy backed by the sweetness in the voice of Shreya while the music has a feel-good vibe. Sidharth and Janhvi dance together in the rain, showing a bold chemistry while doing the hook step with a sizzling charm. The song ends with a short exchange between the two where Sidharth is seen helping Janhvi wear a saree, from what appears to be a scene in the film.
Earlier, the song ‘Pardesiya’ from the film was unveiled, which became quite popular on social media for its old-school music and Sonu Nigam’s fresh voice.
Param Sundari is directed by Tushar Jalota (Dasvi, 2022), who has also written the screenplay with Aarsh Vora. It has been officially described as “Where North’s fire meets South’s grace, it calls for the biggest love story of the year.”
The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan and it was earlier set to be released in theatres on July 25 but was delayed. It will now hit the screen on August 29.
The romantic-drama will mark the first collaboration between Sidharth and Janhvi. Sidharth was last seen in the actioner Yodha (2024) and he also has the folk-thriller Vvan—Force of the Forrest in the pipeline. Meanwhile Janhvi’s Homebound was recently screened at Cannes. She was last seen in the espionage thriller Ulajh last year.
