Saiyaara box office: Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s romantic-musical Saiyaara has earned Rs 302.25 crore at the box office, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. Directed by Mohit Suri, the film also stars Alam Khan, Geeta Agarwal, Rajesh Kumar and Varun Badola in pivotal roles.

The film is currently facing some competition from the recently released Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2. Saiyaara earned Rs 6.75 crore on Saturday and Rs 8 crore on Sunday. It saw some dip on Monday as he minted Rs 2.50 crore. The film has become the second-highest grosser of the year after Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava. At the global box office, Saiyaara has crossed Rs 450 crore.

Meanwhile, Son of Sardaar 2 has earned Rs 27.25 crore in four days since its release and Dhadak 2 has collected Rs 12.80 crore.

The film has achieved these numbers without its lead pair doing any promotions. Mohit claimed that like his 2013 romantic drama Aashiqui 2, starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, he wanted to keep the pairing of Ahaan and Aneet fresh till the film’s release. While Aditya and Shraddha had appeared in a few films prior to Aashiqui 2Saiyaara marks Ahaan’s screen debut and Aneet’s first as a lead. Aneet was previously seen in the coming-of-age show Big Girls Don’t Cry last year and in Salaam Venky (2022).

“It was an idea that collectively came forward. My producer Akshaye Widhani and, of course, Aditya Chopra (owner of Yash Raj Films), who has mentored us through this thing, suggested that until the two actors don’t have anything behind them to talk about, the conversation will be filled with questions like ‘Who is the prankster on the set?’ or ‘How is it to work with Mohit Suri?’ It’s all redundant stuff, and I don’t think anyone has any interest in listening to all that,” Mohit said in an interview on the YouTube channel Just Too Filmy.
