James Gunn took to social media to unveil the first look at DC Studios' upcoming animated series Mister Miracle. The co-CEO of DC Studios also welcomed Josh Hutcherson and Mackenzie Davis to the voice cast of the series.
"Welcoming Josh Hutcherson as Mister Miracle and Mackenzie Davis as Big Barda in Tom King’s forthcoming animated DCU series from DC Studios and Warner Bros Animation, Mister Miracle," wrote Gunn in X.
Earlier in an interview with IGN, DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran unveiled that Hutcherson and Davis were onboard the voice cast of the upcoming series. Mister Miracle is King's second series for DC as a creator. He previously created DC's Lanterns along with Damon Lindelof and Chris Mundy. King is adapting his own eponymous comic book miniseries of the same name for the upcoming series.
The upcoming series is the second animated series and the fourth overall series from the first phase of projects from the DC Universe (DCU), titled Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. Further series in development at DC is the Superman (2025) spinoff, The People vs Gorilla Grodd, which sees the return of Skyler Gisondo as Daily Planet reporter Jimmy Olsen.
Meanwhile, the next instalment in the DCU, the live-action film Clayface opens in theatres on October 23.
