

Edi Gathegi, who was recently seen in James Gunn's Superman (2025), has joined the cast of Miami Vice 85. Michael B Jordan and Austin Butler will lead the cast of the upcoming film.
Miami Vice 85 is film adaptation of the television series, Miami Vice, which premiered in 1984. In the upcoming film, Jordan and Butler will portray undercover detectives Ricardo Tubbs and James Crockett, respectively, who gets entangled in the corrupt world of crime in Miami.
Joseph Kosinski, who previously directed Top Gun: Maverick (2022) and F1 (2025), is directing Miami Vice 85 from script by Dan Gilroy, the director of Nightcrawler (2014). Kosinski is producing the film along with Dylan Clark, who is backing the film under his Dylan Clark Productions banner.
The cast of the upcoming film includes Alden Ehrenreich, Whitney Peak, Camila Morrone, Danny Ramirez, John Leguizamo and Andrew Schulz. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gathegi is said to be portraying a small time criminal, who has large ambitions.
Gathegi portrayed Michael Holt / Mister Terrific in Superman (2025). He is also known for his roles in Gone Baby Gone (2007), X-Men: First Class (2011), The Twilight franchise, and The Blacklist. He will return as Mister Terrific in the sequel to Superman (2025), Man of Tomorrow.
