A new poster of Project Hail Mary, actor Ryan Gosling's upcoming film, looks like that of Gosling's own 2016 film La La Land. In the poster, we see Gosling doing his iconic dance move from the 2016 film against a starlit background. Only, here, the title reads Project Hail Mary and not La La Land, and in place of Emma Stone, we see Gosling's character alongside a robot from the upcoming movie. "A city of stars shining just for them," reads the caption for the post, paying tribute to the 'City Of Stars' song from La La Land. Interestingly, the poster comes at a time when the
Damien Chazelle directorial is set to mark its 10th release anniversary.
In the upcoming movie, directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, Ryan Gosling stars as astronaut Dr Ryland Grace, who comes back from sleep only to realise that he is in a different galaxy. Soon, he regains his memory and realises that he is on a mission to save planet Earth by solving a mysterious situation related to the Sun.
Lord and Miller have directed the film from a recent Andy Weir novel with the same title. First reviews for Project Hail Mary have so far been positive, following the film's world premiere.
The film marks Gosling's first theatrical release after 2024's The Fall Guy, where he stars as a stuntman navigating life-threatening action sequences in Hollywood. The Fall Guy earned plenty of positive reviews from critics, although the film failed to recover its production cost. On the other hand, some early reviews of the upcoming film say that Gosling is back in form with a career-best performance in an entertaining space odyssey.
