Following the success of Bodies Bodies Bodies, writer Sarah DeLappe is all set to script Jenna Ortega and Taylor Russell's upcoming film Single Female, the remake of 1992 hit erotic thriller Single White Female.
Besides starring in the lead role, Ortega and Russell will also back the film alongside Stacey Sher and Marisa Paiva.
Bridget Fonda and Jennifer Jason Leigh starred in the original which revolved around a woman who discovers strange and sinister events happening after her new roommate moves into the apartment. The film was a box office success and earned a cult status over the years.
The project is being considered as a "high priority." Sher has previously produced several noted films like Contagion, Django Unchained and the recent horror-thriller Heretic. Single Female marks Paiva's first major producing work.
DeLappe is an acclaimed playwright and screenwriter, widely recognized for exploring the complexities of relationships among young women. Besides Bodies Bodies Bodies, she has also worked on the play The Wolves which was the finalist for the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
