Disney's iconic fairy Tinker Bell from the Peter Pan franchise is all set to make a comeback as the streamer is working on a live-action series based on her. While many projects have aimed to focus on the character in the past, this new series is considered a "high priority project" and is moving forward with Liz Heldens (Will Trent, Boston Public, Deception) and Bridget Carpenter (Only Murders in the Building, Parenthood, Westworld) coming together to write and executive produce.

Titled Tink, the project is currently at its nascent stage and plot details are currently unavailable. The original character, created by JM Barrie through his Peter Pan novels, is pocket-sized friendly fairy to Peter in Neverland, but is envious of his new friend Wendy Darling. After appearing first in the 1953 animated movie Peter Pan, the character went on to come back in several films and series in the last seven decades. For Disney, Tinker Bell is special as she became an unofficial mascot for the studio, appearing on many introductory title cards on TV shows.

However, Tink has been in the cans since 2010 when it was revealed as a live-action romantic comedy, headlined by Elizabeth Banks. In 2015, Reese Witherspoon was set to star in another version. Recently, Yara Shahidi played the role in the live action film Peter Pan and Wendy (2023).

Apart from Heldens and Carpenter, former Disney Channels Worldwide president/Disney Branded Television president and chief creative officer Gary Marsh will also serve as executive producer along with Quinn Haberman of Heldens’ Selfish Mermaid company.
