During a recent premiere of his film, The Bride!, Christian Bale shared his opinion on Luca Guadagnino's new adaptation of American Psycho (2000). When asked if he had any young actors in mind for his role, he said to The Hollywood Reporter, “Whoever wants to give it a shot, give it a pop!” He also reminisced about working on the 2000 film with director Mary Harron and said that it would be a ''bold choice for anyone to try''. Bale expressed his uncertainty over the film being remade but conveyed his best wishes to his potential replacement, calling them 'brave' as well.

The upcoming film would be a new adaptation of author Bret Easton Ellis’ 1991 novel and is not intended to be a remake of Christian Bale’s film. Director Luca Guadagnino shared about the film, “We are really working hard to bring to the screen a new adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ American Psycho, a book that I deeply love and that is something that influenced me so much.”
The cast of the new American Psycho has not yet been announced. Recently, Bret Easton Ellis said that many other actors declined the opportunity to play the psychopath in the upcoming film for fear of living up to the expectations.
On the work front, the actor is collaborating with David O Russell in a Biopic film, Madden, where he stars as Al Davis. Also starring Nicolas Cage, Madden is set to be released on November 26 this year.
