In a pleasant surprise for MCU fans in Kerala, Marvel Fans India on Thursday announced that the Kochi fans show of Spider-Man: Brand New Day was inaugurated by none other than Tom Holland himself during a fan interaction in Berlin. The fan community shared a video on social media showing Holland signing and launching the official ticket for the Kochi fans show, which is scheduled to be held at Vanitha Vineetha theatre.
According to Marvel Fans India, Antony Emmanuel represented Marvel Fans India and Marvel Fans Kerala in Berlin, where he personally presented the official Kochi fans show ticket to Holland. "We are thrilled to unveil the special guest who inaugurated our Spider-Man: Brand New Day Fans Show events. It's none other than Tom Holland, our very own friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man," Marvel Fans India wrote on social media.
Calling it "a truly unforgettable milestone" for the Marvel fan community in India, the organisation also thanked Aiwin Johns, State Head of Marvel Fans Kerala, Comic Mantra founder San Ramsankar, and Kerala Pop Con co-founder Sree Nandan Chengannur for their support.
The announcement comes shortly after advance bookings for Spider-Man: Brand New Day opened across India. The film will release in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam on July 30, with screenings planned across multiple premium large formats, although Sony Pictures India has confirmed that the film will not receive an IMAX release.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks Holland's return as Peter Parker following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which ended with the world forgetting his identity after Doctor Strange's spell. The new film follows Peter as he attempts to rebuild his life while remaining Spider-Man, even as his closest friends, MJ and Ned, continue to have no memory of him. The story also sees him take on familiar foes, including Michael Mando's Scorpion and Jon Bernthal's Punisher, while confronting a larger conspiracy involving the mysterious organisation known as The Hand.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film also stars Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Mando, Jon Bernthal, Liza Colón-Zayas, Tramell Tillman and Marvin Jones III.
