Twisters Movie Review: An entertaining spiritual successor with great gravitas

Georgia Oakley is known for Blue Jean, her first feature film that earned her British Independent Film Award and BAFTA Film Award nominations. Working Title Films is the producer of Sense and Sensibility. The production banner's credits include Jane Austen adaptations such as Pride and Prejudice (2005), featuring Keira Knightley, and the 2020 Anya Taylor-Joy starrer Emma.

There have been multiple film adaptations of Jane Austen's novel. Notably, Ang Lee directed the Academy Award-winning 1995 film based on the novel that stars Kate Winslet and Emma Thompson, among others. Its screenplay earned Thompson her sophomore Oscar award. In Tamil, the novel formed the basis for Rajiv Menon's Kandukondain Kandukondain.

Besides her work in Normal People and Twisters, Daisy Edgar-Jones is known for her performance in the mystery drama Where the Crawdads Sing. It is worth noting that the core plot elements of Where the Crawdads Sing and Sense and Sensibility include themes such as rural isolation and social expectations.
