In the teaser for Ice Age: Boiling Point, Scrat is seen flying in the air, still trying to grab that elusive acorn, which triggers a massive heat and meltdown. Disney unveiled the teaser for the sixth film in the franchise on Thursday.
Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie and the rest of the herd are thrown up in the air, and each of them is attacked by flying objects and balls of lava, as a volcano seems to have erupted, filling the sky up with smoke.
The film’s newly unveiled logline teases, “Ice Age: Boiling Point is a dinosaur-and-lava-filled madcap adventure that takes Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, Scrat and the rest of the herd to visit never-before-seen corners of the treacherous Lost World.”
Returning to voice the beloved characters are Ray Romano as Manny, Queen Latifah as Ellie, John Leguizamo as Sid, Denis Leary as Diego, and Simon Pegg as Buck. The adventure will open in theatres on February 5, 2027.
First launched in 2002, the Ice Age series has spawned multiple sequels—The Meltdown (2006), Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009), Continental Drift (2012), and Collision Course (2016), the latter grossing nearly $409 million worldwide. The franchise also expanded with spinoffs like The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild (2022) and the Disney+ short series Scrat Tales (2022).
