Netflix recently announced that its upcoming period action adventure, Assassin's Creed, has expanded its cast with Tanzyn Crawford. The upcoming series will be directed by Johan Renck, the Emmy award winning director of Chernobyl.
Roberto Patino and David Weiner are the creator of Assassin's Creed, and are showrunners. "We’ve been fans of Assassin’s Creed since its release in 2007. Every day we work on this show, we come away excited and humbled by the possibilities that Assassin’s Creed opens to us. Beneath the scope, the spectacle, the parkour and the thrills is a baseline for the most essential kind of human story — about people searching for purpose, struggling with questions of identity and destiny and faith. It is about power and violence and sex and greed and vengeance," said the creators.
The cast of the series also includes Toby Wallace, Lola Petticrew, Zachary Hart, and Laura Marcus.
Apart from the upcoming series, 2016's Assassin's Creed is the only other live-action adaptation of the series. The film stars Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, and Jeremy Irons, among others. Justin Kurzel, who directed Fassbender and Cottilard on Macbeth (2015), directed Assassin's Creed (2016).
Meanwhile, Crawford will be seen in the upcoming Game of Thrones spinoff, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, as Tanselle. The series is premiering on JioHotstar, on January 19.
