Anne Hathaway has garnered much appreciation for her performance in the film The Odyssey, directed by Christopher Nolan and co-starring Matt Damon and Tom Holland, among others. Even as she soaks in all the positive feedback for the film, Hathaway is gearing up for the release of her next, titled The End Of Oak Street, directed by David Robert Mitchell and co-starring Ewan McGregor. The film marks Mitchell's return to direction after 2018's comedy-thriller Under the Silver Lake.
Ahead of its release, slated for August 14, director Edgar Wright has shared a glowing review for the film. Wright compared it with Mitchell's critically acclaimed horror film It Follows, as well as The Twilight Zone. Taking to his Instagram, the filmmaker shared, "It's such a fun ride, and while a very different movie from It Follows, has the similar obsession with terror lurking in the suburbs. The simple, yet totally out-there premise gave me the great vibe of EC Comics and The Twilight Zone."
The Hot Fuzz and The Running Man filmmaker also suggested watching the film in theatres without gaining any idea about how it is going to look through its trailers. He added in his The End Of Oak Street review, "If you are planning to see it, stop watching any more trailers, there are some great moments that in the spirit of early Amblin movies, push that PG 13 rating as hard as it will go*. I had a blast with it and I hope you do too. Go see it on a monster sized screen.
*Famously you can only use the 'F' word once in a PG 13 and the usage here is an especially good one."
