Tom Holland has reassured fans that he is recovering well after sustaining a concussion on the set of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The actor shared that he’s “feeling better and on the mend” in an Instagram post that featured moments from a recent gala for his parents’ nonprofit, The Brothers Trust. Holland attended the event with fiancée and co-star Zendaya, just days after the accident.
“What a night! Another huge success,” he wrote. “The Brothers Trust means more to me than I could possibly say, and I have to say a huge thank you to my mum and her wonderful friends for putting on another incredible night. Raising money for fantastic causes and having fun doing it! I’m sorry I had to leave early, but I’m feeling better and on the mend. A huge thanks to my dad for taking over after I left. The show got considerably funnier.”
According to Deadline, production on the Sony and Marvel Studios film was halted after Holland’s injury, which reportedly occurred during a stunt on the Glasgow set. The actor was taken to the hospital for evaluation but was not admitted. No other cast or crew members were impacted by the incident.
Filming onSpider-Man: Brand New Day began in Scotland last month. Jon Watts is the director of the three previous films in the Spider-Man franchise that stars Holland. However, Destin Daniel Cretton of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings fame is directing the fourth film in the series. It brings back Zendaya as Michelle "MJ" Jones, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, also known as the Hulk, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, and Michael Mando as the Scorpion. The cast also includes newcomers to the MCU, such as Liza Colon-Zayas, known for The Bear, Sadie Sink (Stranger Things), Marvin Jones III and Tramell Tillman (Severance). Initially slated for a July 24, 2026 release, the film was later pushed back to July 31.
