The race is not over yet for Brad Pitt's F1: The Movie, especially not in India. Even after ten weeks of theatrical run, there is no sign of stopping for Sonny Hayes in Joseph Kosinski's film. F1 has crossed the Rs 100 crore milestone in the Indian box office, a feat that very few Hollywood films has managed to achieve. The current total stands at Rs 104.33 crore. With this record, the film has overturned Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning box office total in India (Rs 104.15 crore), making it the highest-grossing Hollywood film of 2025.
The film's overseas record has also been impressive, thanks to the filmmaker's adrenaline-pumping storyline and taut screenplay along with engaging visuals. Worldwide, F1 has collected over $619.50 million against a $200–300 million budget, becoming the sixth-highest-grossing film of 2025, the highest-grossing auto racing film.
Apart from becoming Apple Studios' highest-grossing theatrical release of all time, F1 has also become a celebrated entry into the top-most position of Brad Pitt's career as it is now the actor's highest-grossing movie in his career. By breaking multiple records, F1 has become one of Brad Pitt's celebrated movies in his career and is expected to be a talking point for years to come.
F1 follows a former Formula One driver Sonny Hayes (Pitt) who returns from retirement to mentor and team up with a rookie Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris). He goes head-to-head with him, and struggles to succeed. Javier Bardem and Kerry Condon also star in the film.
Many real-life Formula One drivers are also part of the film as themselves, including Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris, and Fernando Alonso, among others.
Our CE review of the film read, "F1 is a simple and neatly structured sports drama with familiar character tropes but it still adds enough freshness into the mix to make us care about what happens beyond the tracks." Several Indian celebrities including Deepika Padukone, Karan Johar, Abishek Kumar Prakash Varma and Smriti Irani praising the film had also contributed to its rise in collections.
An OTT release date is yet to be confirmed by the makers.
