Maya Hawke is imagining a future where Hollywood and Bollywood collaborate far more closely. The Stranger Things star, while speaking to IMDb, expressed her long-standing wish to be part of projects that unite the two massive film industries.

Calling the Indian film landscape “expansive” and “gorgeous”, Hawke said it has always felt disappointing to her that the industries remain so far apart. “It’s always sad to me how separate Hollywood and Bollywood are,” she noted, emphasising her hope that the divide narrows in the years to come. She added that she would consider it an honour to collaborate with Indian filmmakers and performers, praising the beauty and craftsmanship of their work.

Hawke shared, “The Indian film world is so expansive, incredible, and gorgeous… I would love to do something that brings those two worlds together.” She also reflected on how meaningful such an experience would be: “I would feel so honoured to work with people who make those films, because they do such gorgeous work.”

Meanwhile, Hawke is gearing up for the final season of Stranger Things, where she stars alongside Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Charlie Heaton, and others. Joining the cast are Jake Connelly and Alex Breaux, with Linda Hamilton as Dr Kay.
