One of the fan-favourite characters in The Duffer Brothers' series Stranger Things is Joseph Quinn's Eddie Munson. Now, here is a spoiler alert! Munson makes a self-sacrifice to save Gaten Matarazzo's Dustin in the final episode of Stranger Things season 4. However, there has been some speculation about Quinn's comeback to the series as Munson with Stranger Things 5. The series' creators recently addressed the speculation in an interview with Empire. "I love that Joe Quinn is toying with people! But no, he's dead,” said Matt Duffer. The filmmaker also underscored Quinn's busy recent schedule, having been part of five films since the release of the fourth season. The actor is also part of the cast of the Russo Brothers' Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars as Johnny Storm / Human Torch.
Duffer rhetorically revealed that Quinn lacks time for Stranger Things production. "No, sadly, RIP. He’s fully under that ground."
As reported earlier, Stranger Things 5 brings back the original cast, Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Natalia Dyer, and Sadie Sink, among others. The series is scheduled to release on Netflix in two volumes and the finale. Stranger Things 5 Volume 1, comprising the first four episodes, will release on November 26 this year. Meanwhile, Volume 2, comprising episodes five to seven, will drop on Christmas, whereas the finale is scheduled for a New Year’s Eve release.
