Nicholas Galitzine is taking on back-to-back projects. After playing a memorable lead in The Idea of You and is awaiting a bunch of projects including Masters Of The Universe where he portrays He-Man, he is set to star alongside Marisa Abela in the upcoming thriller The Return Of Stanley Atwell.
Brian Welsh, known for Beats (2019), Black Mirror (2011) and What It Feels Like for A Girl, has helmed the film based on a story by Steven Soderbergh. He also serves as an executive producer.
According to the plotline, "Stanley Atwell (Galitzine), the presumed dead son and heir to Lord Atwell’s title and fortune, unexpectedly returns to the family estate having escaped a decade of mysterious captivity. Atwell’s shocking reappearance causes chaos as he finds his sister Beatrice fighting to claim his inheritance, whilst close friend Pamela (Abela) manipulates his puzzling return, and a dark family secret, in a bid to seize control of the Atwell fortune. Sex, passion, backstabbing and betrayal wreak havoc across the estate as the lies and deception the Atwell name has been built upon start to unravel. How far is each family member willing to go to protect their own wealth and status… and what is really behind the return of Stanley Atwell?"
The Return Of Stanley Atwell marks Welsh and Soderbergh’s second collaboration after the crime-comedy Beats. Abela is reuniting with Soderbergh after her work in the espionage thriller Black Bag.
On the technical team, Benjamin Kracun (The Substance) is onboard as the DOP. Producers are Liza Marshall for Hera Pictures and John Gore for John Gore Studios. Dave Bishop, George Hamilton, James Pugh and Hilary Strong serve as executive producers.
