Get ready to return to Hawkins for one final showdown.
Netflix has unveiled a brand-new poster for Stranger Things 5, teasing “One Last Adventure” as the beloved series gears up for its climactic end. The reveal comes on a fitting date, exactly nine years since the series premiered on July 15, 2016. Along with the poster, Netflix has announced that the official teaser for the fifth and final season will drop later today.
Set in the fall of 1987, the new season picks up in a town reeling from the chaos of the open Rifts. According to the official synopsis, Hawkins has been placed under strict military quarantine, and the government is on a relentless hunt for Eleven, forcing her into hiding once again.
Meanwhile, the gang faces the looming threat of Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), who has disappeared without a trace. “Our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna,” the synopsis reads. “But with his whereabouts unknown and a darkness greater than ever closing in, the final battle will demand the full party — together, one last time.”
The cast returns in full force, including Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas), Noah Schnapp (Will), Sadie Sink (Max), Natalia Dyer (Nancy), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan), Joe Keery (Steve), Maya Hawke (Robin), Priah Ferguson (Erica), Brett Gelman (Murray), Cara Buono (Karen), Amybeth McNulty (Vickie), Nell Fisher (Holly), Jake Connelly (Derek Turnbow), Alex Breaux (Lt. Akers), and Terminator icon Linda Hamilton as Dr. Kay.
Volume 1 of Stranger Things 5, comprising the first four episodes, will premiere on November 26. This will be followed by volume 2, comprising episodes five to seven, premiering on Christmas. The final episode of the finale will be unveiled on New Year's Eve.
