
Apple TV+'s upcoming crime series, which is yet to be titled, has added Chrissy Metz to its cast. The crime series is based on Lars Kepler's crime novels.
The story of the series is set in a remote town in Pennsylvania, where Jonah Lynn, an ex-soldier turned homicide detective, needs to protect his town and family when a serial killer, Jurek Walter, starts attacking the place. Lynn pits his adoptive daughter and FBI agent, Saga Bauer, up against Walter.
In This Is Us, Metz starred as the Pearson sibling, Kate, in an ensemble cast consisting of Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Justin Heartley, and Sterling K Brown amongst others. For her role as Kate, she was nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe award.
Besides Metz, the cast of the series include Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz, Stephen Graham, and Rory Culkin.
The yet-to-be-titled series received a 10-episode order, with filming set to begin in Pittsburgh. Rowan Joffe and John Hlavin serve as the showrunners for the series, and also serve as writers. Joffe and Hlavin serve as executive producers with Schreiber, Beetz, author Lars Kepler, Øystein Karlsen, David Rysdahl, Dorothy Fortenberry and Niclas Salomonsson. A+E Studios and Range Studios are backing the series.
