
A small town will see the addition of a Culkin sibling, as Rory Culkin is cast in Apple TV's upcoming show based on the novels by Lars Kepler. Culkin is a part of the acting family that consists of Macaulay and Kieran.
The yet-to-be-titled series is set in a small town that comes under attack from a serial killer, Jurek Walter. Jonah Lynn, an ex-soldier turne homicide detective, must protect his family and his town from Jurek, and in turn sends his adopted daughter, FBI Agenter Saga Bauer against Jurek.
Culkin joins the cast of the series as Karl, a new-joinee at high-security psychiatric insitute, where he is made to take care of one of its most dangerous inmates, reported Variety. Culkin joins the cast of the series that includes Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz, and Stephen Graham. Schrieber is known for his role as Sabretooth in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Beetz has starred in films like Deadpool 2 and Joker. Meanwhile, Graham's recent Netflix series Adolescence garnered rave reviews.
Lars Kepler is the pseudonym of Alexandra Coehlo Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril. Their book series with Joona Linna has sold over 18 million copies globally.
Rowan Joffe and John Hlavin are the showrunners for the series and are serving as writers and executive producers on the series with Tim Van Patten, who is directing the first two episodes. Other executive producers on the series include Schreiber, Beetz, author Lars Kepler, Øystein Karlsen, David Rysdahl, Dorothy Fortenberry and Niclas Salomonsson. Julie Herrin serves as a co-executive producer. A+E Studios backs the series in association with Range Studios.
With receiving a 10-episode order, filming for the series is set to begin in Pittsburgh.
