
Hailee Steinfeld will join the cast of the romantic comedy, Winter Games. According to Deadline, the actor will join Miles Teller in the film, which is backed by Paramount Pictures.
The story of Winter Games, centres around a neglected skier and self-destructive hockey legend, who meet at the Winter Olympics at the lowest points of their lives. Their connection threatens the hockey player's chance at a comeback and the skier's chance of glory. Steinfeld will star as the down-on-her-luck skier with Teller as the dysregulated hockey player.
Steinfeld was recently seen in the period horror Sinners, alongside Michael B Jordan. The film reunited Jordan with director Ryan Coogler for a fifth time. Steinfeld's recent outings were as a voice actor for Netflix's Arcane, which concluded with the second season, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, in which she voiced Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman. She will reprise her role as Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Winter Games, will be directed by Paul Downs Colaizzo, who has written the film with Patrick Cunnane. Tim White and Trevor White are producing the film alongside Teller under their Star Thrower banner.
