Ever since Sadie Sink joined the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the actor has been on top of the world, but guarding secrets about the Tom Holland-headlined fourth film in the franchise has not been easy for her.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in an interview, Sink recalled how she learned about her casting while wrapping up the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. "Oh, it was crazy," Sink said. "Spider-Man has always been my favorite. I love Spider-Man. I love Tom's Spider-Man, especially. To be a fan of something and then join it is a familiar feeling for me, because I was a fan of Stranger Things before I joined the show, but I was super excited about what they had planned."
For Sink, reuniting with director Destin Daniel Cretton was a "full-circle moment" for her as she collaborated with him back when she was 14 years old. Her character in Brand New Day continues to remain under wraps even as fan theories have flooded the internet, but Sink remains tight-lipped on further details. Admitting that she is eager to talk more about the project, she said, "I can't wait to talk about it more. There's so much I want to share. That's why I feel like keeping Stranger Things secrets are kind of easy because I have so many Spider-Man secrets I'm sitting on that feel even more secretive."
As previously announced, Mark Ruffalo will return to for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, as Bruce Banner/The Hulk. Along with Ruffalo, Michael Mando, who was seen in an end credits scene for Spider-Man: Homecoming, will return as the villain Scorpion. Jon Bernthal reprises his role as Frank Castle/The Punisher after Daredevil: Born Again. Bernthal will also portray The Punisher in a special presentation from Marvel. Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are also returning. The cast also includes newcomers to MCU such as Liza Colon-Zayas, known for The Bear, and Tramell Tillman (Severance) and Marvin Jones III (Tombstone).
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will begin on the heels of the previous film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, which ended with Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) casting a spell over the world, to make everyone forget Peter Parker, in order to protect his identity as Spider-Man. This includes his close friends MJ and Ned (Zendaya and Jacob Batalon). The film is Cretton's second MCU film after Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The film will release in theatres worldwide on July 31, 2026.
Meanwhile, Sadie Sink can be seen currently as Max Mayfield in Stranger Things season 5. The first two volumes of the current season, consisting of seven episodes are currently streaming on Netflix. The finale episode hits the platform on New Year's even.
