

With just a few days to go for the release of Stranger Things season 5 Volume 2, the makers have released a new clip that shows Vecna taking control of more kids in Hawkins after kidnapping them using his demogorgons.
For the unversed, towards the end of Volume 1, it was revealed that Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) has powers and is deriving it from Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) to defeat and kill demigorgons. In a major twist in casting, it was also shown that actor Linnea Berthelsen had rejoined the series as Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown)'s foster sister Kali Prasad after season 2. The volume ended with his friends wounded after demogorgons kidnapped more kids in Hawkins to unfold his sinister plan.
In the new clip, it was shown that Derek (Jake Connelly), along with many other students waking up in a strange land and being instructed by Mr Whatsit, their imaginary friend (also played by Bower). They are escorted to his house where Holly Wheeler (Nell Fisher) also greets them. Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink) watches them from aside to know what happens to Holly and others after cautioning the former on Mr Whatsit's real evil side. Meanwhile, Mr Whatsit gathers the children for a meeting where he says, "You might be wondering when your family and friends will be joining you here. The difficult truth is there is more at stake than just the lives of your loved ones. I don't wish to frighten you, but I believe you are brave enough to know the truth."
This eight-episode season sees the return of beloved characters played by including David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Joe Keery (Steve Harrington), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), Maya Hawke (Robin Buckley), Priah Ferguson (Erica Sinclair), Brett Gelman (Murray), Cara Buono (Karen Wheeler), Amybeth McNulty (Vickie), Nell Fisher (Holly Wheeler), Jake Connelly (Derek Turnbow), Alex Breaux (Lt. Akers), and Linda Hamilton (Dr. Kay).
With the first four episodes streaming on Netflix, the second volume, consisting of three episodes, will release on December 25. The trailer of Volume 2, which was unveiled recently, showed the life-threatening stakes for the gang. It sets the stage of the unleashing of Vecna's grand plan for a new world.
The finale episode is slated for the New Year's eve. It will be releasing in theatres simultaneously with its streaming premiere.
